What the app does
Upload on the customer
Search for the customer in the app and attach the certificate as a PDF, JPG, PNG, WebP or TIFF file up to 4 MB.
AI reads the certificate
Document type, state, business name, tax ID, expiry date and whether a signature is visible, with a confidence score and a list of unclear fields.
You check and correct
Edit the business name, state or expiry date, then approve or reject. The customer’s tax status changes only when you approve.
Tax exempt in one click
Approval sets the customer as tax exempt in Shopify and adds tags and metafields you can use in your store and reports.
Dashboard
Certificates pending review, approved exemptions and certificates expiring in the next 30 days, plus the latest uploads.
Masked tax IDs
The app shows only the last four digits of a tax ID; the certificate file stays in your Shopify store.
What approval writes to Shopify
The exemption is set on the Shopify customer itself. Tags and metafields carry the state, expiry date and certificate, so you can filter and report on exempt customers.

Install
Add the app to your store from the Shopify App Store.
Upload
Open a customer in the app and upload their certificate.
Review
Check the fields the AI read and correct anything that is wrong.
Approve
Approve to set the customer tax exempt, or reject the certificate.
What it does not do
The app reads and records certificates. It does not decide whether a certificate is valid for your store, and it does not change an exemption on its own after approval.
